HOT TOPPING COMPOUNDS

Exochem hot topping compounds are formulated to ignite in seconds and to retain the heat in the riser.  These compounds flow easily and make them easy to use.  These toppings should be applied as soon as the riser is filled with metal.  Exochem has many topping compounds that are either exothermic or insulating to fit your specific operation.  We also have metal producing topping compounds that will produce a typical mild steel metals analysis of .13% carbon .52% silicon and these metal producing compounds can be used in the event that a casting is poured short.  These products are sold in drum quantities by the pound.  Please contact our sales department to determine what will work best for your facility.

TOPPING APPLICATIONS

Minimum topping thickness must always be at least one half inch.  Topping thickness should be 10% of the riser diameter.
